VIP board bonding
Industry demand
With increasingly stringent global energy efficiency standards, the refrigerator industry has raised the bar for insulation performance to new heights. Due to its extremely low thermal conductivity and thin thickness, Vacuum Insulation Panel (VIP) is rapidly replacing traditional polyurethane foam and becoming the core insulation solution for high-end energy-efficient refrigerators. However, the gas barrier layer of VIP panels is highly sensitive to moisture and mechanical stress, and requires long-term reliable bonding with metal and plastic panels, posing severe challenges to bonding materials. These materials must not only exhibit high bonding strength and excellent sealing performance, but also accommodate thermal expansion differences between different substrates to prevent debonding and bulging caused by temperature cycling, which can lead to insulation failure. The market urgently needs a specialized bonding solution that can simultaneously meet the requirements of fast process timing, resistance to high and low temperature cycling, and long-term durability.
Sustainability planning
"Our sustainability strategy spans the entire product lifecycle.".
At the source, we develop adhesive formulas with 100% solid content, free of volatile substances and even biobased content, significantly reducing the carbon footprint during production and use.
On the application side, energy consumption is reduced by optimizing the bonding process, such as supporting low-temperature curing or rapid positioning technology, which reduces energy consumption in the entire refrigerator production line. Additionally, the yield rate of VIP board bonding is improved to reduce waste.
In the end-of-life cycle, we are exploring reversible bonding or easily separable designs to facilitate the classification and recycling of VIP panels and cabinets when refrigerators are scrapped. This approach aims to avoid composite material pollution and assist customers in building sustainable competitiveness across the entire value chain, from green manufacturing to recycling. "
Our Advantages
"We are not just a simple adhesive supplier, but a bonding technology partner who deeply understands the pain points of refrigerator manufacturing.".
Advantage 1: With in-depth industry experience, we have collaborated with multiple leading refrigerator brands, gaining a thorough understanding of the entire process from foam pre-treatment, lamination, to assembly.
Advantage 2: Strong customization capability, allowing precise adjustment of rheological properties and curing speed for different adherend surfaces such as stainless steel, HIPS, galvanized steel, and different application methods such as manual bonding and automatic coating.
Advantage 3: Reliable long-cycle verification. Our products have undergone thousands of hours of testing in high temperature and humidity, thermal shock, and long-term load creep, ensuring that the bonding will not fail within a design lifespan of over 10 years, maintaining the ultra-low thermal conductivity advantage of VIP boards. "
Feature
For the bonding of the VIP board in refrigerators, the core features of our solution are as follows:
High initial adhesion and instant positioning can prevent VIP board displacement, meeting the rapid assembly requirements of the assembly line;
With ultra-low water absorption and high moisture resistance, it effectively protects the barrier layer of the VIP board from moisture erosion, maintaining high vacuum within the board;
With wide temperature tolerance and flexible stress absorption, the elastic rubber layer can absorb the expansion and contraction stress of different materials under frequent alternating high and low temperatures, effectively preventing glue separation and board deformation;
Excellent spraying/gluing processability, no stringing, no sagging, compatible with automated equipment for precise glue line control;
Low odor, non-corrosive, harmless to VIP film and box lining, meeting relevant safety requirements for food contact materials. "
